Expressing gratitude, a ritual of sociability.

 

Embroidery is a widespread practice yet neglected and very time absorbing.

For three hours, needle and thread in hand, as I scan the features of each face, my attention is drawn to the person being embroidered, to the memories of the situations we've experienced together.

Embroidery is a gesture that allows us to take the time to pay homage to the encounter with another person.

In the video, a choreography inspired by gestures expressing gratitude.
