CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Causerie Mortelle (in english approx "Death talk")
2025 - ongoing
It is an opportunity to talk openly about death—our loved ones who have passed, or even our own mortality.
During the Causerie Mortelle meeting participants can put words to experiences of end-of-life, death, and grief in a safe, informal, and welcoming environment.
Inspired by the Death Café concept developed by Swiss sociologist Bernard Crettaz, I developed my very own recipe for this format to embrace vulnerability, reflect on life’s finitude, and integrate the reality of death into our everyday lives.
The event is not a performance neither mine nor of the participants, but rather a safe space to share. I aim to install it as a regular free event, open to everyone and hosted in local public institutions. During 2 hours, a small group of participants of various ages and background actively listen to each-othjer.
My role within this practice: to open up and hold a space of care and resistance within the society.
